How Do You Keep Your Momentum?
If you’re a mum, I hope you had a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY — although I think every day is really Mother’s Day once you become one!
May is not only the month we celebrate mothers, it’s also a month of transition as we move through spring into summer…if you’re in the northern hemisphere that is. We put away our winter clothing, clean off the outdoor furniture, spruce up the yard, and get outside.
This is also the time of year when the momentum you had at the beginning of January to make healthier choices can slow down. Perhaps you started the year off feeling motivated and inspired to REALLY DO IT this year, but by now, getting enough exercise is a bit more challenging, your healthy eating habits have slipped a bit, getting your closet organized isn’t as appealing as you thought, and there are more and more easy excuses or distractions that pull you away from following through.
This happens to all of us.
Willpower alone isn’t enough to get you through a case of the “slows”, so how do you get reenergized and get back on track? (Other than beating yourself up and feeling guilty – which doesn’t help a bit).
Have you ever been to a conference or workshop where you really felt renewed, inspired and totally committed to doing whatever you needed to do to follow up on the information you’d learned? Or maybe you read something or saw a piece on TV that got you excited to take action.
Whatever the catalyst, you know that feeling of being REALLY motivated…fired up.
But that feeling doesn’t last, does it?
You need a way to build the action steps into your daily routine so that you don’t have to keep pushing, because pushing – using willpower – takes too much energy. What you need is a guide…and a path to follow. And a way to keep that feeling of being energized and excited to keep going…
That’s why we’re presenting Wellness Wednesdays at PMP this year. Every Wednesday evening, we’re offering informative, inspiring and fun workshops to get you motivated and keep you going…even when the going gets tough. Several workshops will be presented by your familiar PMP instructors, and some will feature guest presenters – like my friend Barb Van Hare, a talented Life Coach, or Donna Mazzitelli, who can help you learn the art of self-care AND show you how to keep a clean, green house.

So set some time aside for yourself and join us for Wellness Wednesdays (and the occasional Saturday). Together we can stay on track and keep our momentum for living a healthier and happier life.
To an even better YOU!
Lindy
